Why Spring is a Good Time to Get Cosmetic Surgery

From April- mid-June, cosmetic surgery becomes very popular. People want to get their work done before the summer because of pool parties, vacations, weddings, etc. Summer is a season where people want to relax and not undergo surgery, so they opt to do this in the off seasons like spring.

Some advantages of cosmetic surgery in the spring:
Climate is still not that warm, making it easier to cover up with clothing.
Your children are still in school, which will allow you more time for healing and relaxing.
The perfect time to give your body the amount of healing it needs right before summer.

Some surgeries many want right before summer:
Breast Augmentation: Many want their breasts to look good and full in their swimsuit. This can be achieved by undergoing breast augmentation surgery. It will enhance your figure and give you confidence in your swimsuit this summer.

Tummy Tuck: Tummy tuck surgery or abdominoplasty helps to reverse those undesirable changes in the abdomen. This will make your tummy look flatter and more toned in your swimsuit.

Body Contouring: You have worked hard this past fall and winter to achieve your desired look, by working out and staying true to a diet. But the results have left your skin hanging and loose. Don't worry, with body contouring; you can have the swimsuit body you’ve always dreamed about.

Schedule your spring cosmetic surgery today at Body By Motoki.

What Questions to Ask When Thinking About Cosmetic Surgery

The time has come when you have decided that you want to undergo cosmetic surgery. Cosmetic surgery is very exciting, and something that will change your life forever. With that being said, you need to make sure you ask the correct questions before taking the next step. Here are some questions to get you started.

Question 1: Is the surgeon certified? It is best to search for a doctor that is board certified by the Board of Plastic Surgery. Certification helps to ensure their certain skills and knowledge.
Question 2: What is their experience? Make sure that they have experience in the procedure you desire. Ask for their portfolio to see examples of their work.
Question 3: What are the potential risks? Any good doctor will be honest and open about what could possibly go wrong.
Question 4: Where will the surgery take place? The surgery must be performed at a licensed and accredited facility. It needs to meet health and safety codes.
Question 5: Does the doctor have hospital privileges? You may need to stay in a hospital for some duration of time. You want to make sure your doctor can still provide you care, rather than another doctor with no previous knowledge of your care.

Congratulations on this next step for a more confident you.

Preventing and Treating the Wrinkles in Your Neck

Having wrinkles on your neck is one of the most distressing skin problems many people face as they grow older. Deep neck wrinkles begin to form about the same time as wrinkles in the face, and can be caused by age, sun exposure, thin skin, and diet and physical health. Like your face the skin on your neck is very delicate, but is often ignored until wrinkles begin to appear.

There are many ways one can prevent the onset of neck wrinkles naturally such as using moisturizer on the neck and face, making sure to apply sunscreen to the neck as well. Stretching your neck has also shown to help prevent these wrinkles.  Face yoga expert Danielle Collins recommends an exercise she call “the giraffe” in which you place your finger tips on the top of your neck and lightly stroke the skin down as you tilt your head back. The head is then lowered slowly back down, this motion should repeated 2-3 times daily for best results.

If wrinkles have already begun to appear there are options to help restore beautiful skin with less makeup. Intense pulsed light and radio frequency procedures preserve the upper skin layer while rejuvenating deeper layers to help rejuvenate collagen that creates healthy, beautiful skin.

Reshaping Your Curves for the Holiday Season

The holidays are a time of traditional music, frequent gatherings, decorations, and delicious food.  However, for many, the holiday season is a time where they feel uncomfortable and self-conscious about their body.  When diet and exercise seem to have little to no effect on holiday weight loss goals, it is easy to get disheartened.  Fortunately, there is another fat reducing, body contouring option to help you fit back into that holiday dress: liposuction.

What is liposuction?
Liposuction is a cosmetic surgical procedure where fat deposits under the skin are suctioned out using advanced equipment.  This procedure often focuses on eliminating fat in the arms, thighs, back, abdomen and hips.  Liposuction should not be seen as a weight loss alternative, but rather a cosmetic, aesthetic procedure to zap fat from “problem areas”.  Recovery time for this procedure is as little as two weeks.  Many individuals are choosing to get their lipo procedure done in late October or early November, so when it’s time for holiday parties, they are fully recovered.

‘Tis the season to feel confident in your body again!  Discover how with Body by Motoki liposuction procedures can help.

FEEL CONFIDENT WITH A MOMMY MAKEOVER

Congrats, your bundle of joy has arrived. This is an exciting time in your life and many things are changing, including your body. For the last nine months your body has created life. It has stretched and moved, allowing baby to grow. But what happens when baby is born? You may find yourself staring at the “what use to be tight belly” to the “flabby stretched out saggy belly” you now have. Do not panic, there is help. At Body by Motoki, Dr. Motoki can give you a Mommy Makeover. This Mommy Makeover will make you feel like your old self, before baby. It includes sought out treatments for the breast and abdomen area. These areas are usually the most affected areas that change during pregnancy. The breasts produce milk which usually enlarge the breasts during pregnancy and during the time of breastfeeding. They too stretch out for this to happen, which can result in sagginess. If that is the case, a breast augmentation can lift and tighten them back to what they use to look like. The abdomen is probably the area that has changed the most. Your baby was growing and so were you. An abdominoplasty can remove excess skin and tighten the muscles. Your body will be back to pre-childbirth before you know it. You have worked hard the last nine months. Reward yourself today with a Mommy Makeover.

Losing weight can be a long and hard journey.  But once you have accomplished your weight loss goals, it all becomes worth the hard work.  After losing the weight, you probably want nothing more than to show off and enjoy your new body.  Unfortunately, after losing weight, you may still not look quite like you had envisioned.  This could be due to hanging skin that remains from the weight that has been lost.  This excess skin cannot be fixed with any amount of diet and exercise.  Surgical removal with a body contouring procedure is the only option.  There is a  combination of procedures that can be done to target areas like the abdomen, underarms, buttocks, chest, thighs, and hips.  If there are multiple areas that need to be addressed, the procedures may have to be done in stages.  To achieve the best results, it is important that candidates have achieved their target body weight before undergoing body contouring procedures.  Dr. Motoki is a board-certified surgeon in the Salt Lake area who offers years of experience in plastic surgery and body contouring procedures.   If you want to reveal the body you are hiding beneath that excess skin, then don’t wait another day and get your free consultation today.

When is the best time for plastic surgery and what are ways to make it easier?

The best time for any plastic surgery is during the fall and winter months.  This is due to the down time for recovery. Having to stay indoors during the spring and summer months makes recovery more difficult to endure, especially when you know everyone else is out enjoying the warm weather. Also, if you get surgery during the fall or winter it is much easier to conceal swelling and bruising with clothing.

Surgery can be unpleasant during any season.  The pain and downtime can be trying and no fun at all. So what do you do after the surgery is over?  How do you make it easier and turn it into a positive experience?  Getting home after the surgery can leave you wanting to crawl into bed and sleep the pain away.  Here are some ideas and steps to make the recovery time easier and a much more pleasant experience.  1) Plan your healing process in advance.  Make sure you get plenty of rest and eat right even months before your procedure. This will help with a faster healing time.  2) Follow your doctor’s orders with stopping any medications or supplements before surgery.  3) During your pre-op visit make sure you have all your questions answered about the procedure and the healing time.  4) Plan your schedule ahead of time allowing yourself the appropriate amount of time to heal without having a full schedule.  5) Prepare to have someone help you the first 24-48 hours after surgery.  6) Always follow your doctor’s guidelines on when and how long to apply ice after the surgery to help with pain and swelling.  7) Drink plenty of fluids and eat a well-balanced diet to assist and help with the recovery after surgery.  8) Communicate with friends, family, and your doctor about any concerns or feelings you might be having after surgery.

Also, remember that the healing process takes time.  Don’t over exert yourself too quickly.  Have some personal time by reading a book, or catching up on a series on Netflix. Remember why you wanted the procedure done in the first place and know that the pain won’t last forever. The procedure and time for recovery is for you and your healing shouldn't be rushed or disturbed.
