Is Breast Implant Removal or Replacement Right for You?

Women seek breast augmentation for a variety of personal reasons.  Women also seek breast implant removal or replacement for number of reasons.   Some women note dissatisfaction with breast changes that have occurred following pregnancy, menopause, general aging or weight loss, and may desire a different breast size or shape.  Other common reasons for revision may include formation of capsular contracture, implant rupture, or desire for a different type of implant material than what was originally placed.

You have many options including removing the implants altogether, downsizing or upsizing your implants, or exchanging implants from saline to silicone.  These options may also be performed with or without a concurrent breast lifting procedure.

A thorough breast examination and consultation with Board Certified Plastic Surgeon, David S. Motoki, M.D.  is the first step towards deciding what option is best for you!

Are You a Good Candidate for Breast Revision Surgery?

Breast revision surgery is ideal for women who want to improve the results of previous cosmetic breast surgery. The revision can change the size or shape of the implants and address any problems with your prior breast augmentation. The goal of this procedure is to restore and remake the breasts for a more satisfied you.

Why consider breast revision:

Size: One of the most common reasons to consider breast revision is to adjust the size of the breasts, whether your primary breast augmentation is too small or too big.

Deflation or Leakage: It is possible for saline implants to deflate or silicone implants to develop a shell leak. Deflated or leaking implants should be replaced.

Scar tissue: Excessive scar tissue may cause the implants to feel hard or can cause discomfort. Scar tissue can be removed to make the breasts feel more natural.

Loose skin: Loose breast skin can cause the breasts to sag in appearance. A breast lift can help your breasts look more youthful.

Visible or palpable rippling of the implant:  Women who notice rippling may elect to replace their implants with a more molecularity cohesive silicone gel implant.

Whatever the reason may be, schedule a complimentary consultation with Dr. David Motoki to learn about your options and find out if breast revision surgery is right for you.

How to Shop for Your Figure

It’s true…women love to shop. However, it often proves to be a daunting task to find clothes with the proper fit, especially when it comes to jeans. When you are shopping for jeans, it can be very difficult to find that perfect pair. If you have a curvier figure, opt for mid-rise jeans instead of low-rise. This can help make your derriere look its best. Low rise jeans can create a muffin top effect and no lady wants this.

Try on many different brands and sizes. Jeans can fit differently in the same brand even if they are the same size, so be sure to try them on. Another important tip is to purchase a size that fits you. When you buy a size that fits, but is not flattering, you are doing your body a disservice. Sometimes moving up a size will be more flattering to your figure. Don’t worry so much about size and focus more on how it looks and feels. Sizing is different in all brands so picking clothing can be difficult. If you still don’t feel great in your clothes, plastic surgery in Utah can help the curving of your natural figure and give you the look you’ve always dreamed of.

How to Set…& Keep New Years Resolutions

It’s that time of year again.  Everyone has set themselves new goals for 2014.  Whether it is losing weight, spending more time with family, spending less time online, or managing money better, everyone is setting new goals for themselves.  The problem with New Years Resolutions is that they rarely seem to stick.  January normally goes well; the gyms are over crowded and everyone seems to carry their resolve around with them.  But by February, everyone seems to slip back into their old habits.  Here are some ways to help you stick to your resolutions and succeed in your goals.

Make it a resolution you want to achieve.  Don’t pick something that you should be doing, but don’t really want to.  Find something about yourself you really want to change and you’ll be more likely to accomplish it.

Don’t overreach.  Don’t make so many goals that you won’t be able to manage all of them.

Make a Plan.  If your goal is really hard to reach, create a series of smaller goals that lead up to it.  This will help you feel less discouraged along the way and keep you motivated.

Enlist a support group.  Telling people about your goals makes it more likely you’ll follow through with them.  Make sure you pick people that will provide advice and support as you navigate your way through your resolutions.

Be specific.  Instead of just saying that you’re going to exercise more, make an exercise routine.  For example, say you’ll work out every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday morning.  Something specific allows you to know what you have to do to achieve your goals.

Resolutions are difficult, but that doesn’t mean you should stop working for them.  Treat 2014 as a clean slate and achieve the things you’ve always wanted.

Look and Feel Younger

We hear every day that women have spent their years looking for that fountain of youth.  Although we have not discovered the fountain of youth, we have found that breast augmentation in Utah can be a great way to turn back the clock and have firmer, more even breasts.  Plastic surgery can be a great option to fight the signs of aging, but exercise and diet can help you feel younger and more energetic as well as enhance overall health.  Breast augmentation can offer you a symmetrical, natural look that can help your self image and make you feel more confident.

On top of the option of having a breast augmentation procedure in Utah, making sure you get adequate sleep each night can help you maintain your youthful appearance.  If you combine healthy eating, exercise, and getting enough sleep, this can limit the need for certain surgical procedures.  Water is also a key ingredient in maintaining your skin health.  Always be sure to drink the recommended amount of water to keep your skin supple and firm.  When diet and exercise are not enough, plastic surgery can offer options that can help maintain that youthful glow.  Injectables and skin peels are another way to firm the loose skin you may have causing wrinkles in unwanted areas.  For more information, visit our website here!
