Is concern over your physical appearance contributing to your postpartum depression?

Giving birth to a baby brings on a wide array of different emotions in a very short time and can greatly affect your emotional and mental well-being.  While you may be happy for the new arrival and basking in the joy of being a mom, there are also stresses and frustrations that can arise very quickly after baby is here.
Crazy changes in your hormones, loss of sleep, recovery from pregnancy, and a whole new schedule are just a few of the things that can take a toll on a new mom and cause feelings of depression.  Then of course there are the physical changes that have taken place in your body, and these alone can become a huge source of depression.
Even mild postpartum depression can be one of the hardest and most frustrating things to deal with after giving birth.  Don’t hesitate to seek help if you are feeling any dark moods, fluctuating appetite, or feelings of hopelessness or despair.  As time goes on you will adapt to the new addition, adjust to the new schedule, and hopefully the baby will be sleeping more.  But sometimes not everything returns to normal as quickly as it should, including your pre-pregnancy shape.
Physical health and how you feel about your body can play a huge role on mental health and your emotional well-being.  This is where a mommy makeover may be beneficial.  Utilizing cosmetic procedures to restore your body back to its previous, (or even improved) state can provide a huge source of confidence and restore a feeling of normalcy.  If physical appearance after giving birth has become a source of sadness and frustration, do not hesitate and take the appropriate steps to love that body once again.
